Maine Fiber Frolic 2025
The Maine Fiber Frolic is produced by a committee of volunteers and fiber enthusiasts to promote education, understanding, and appreciation of fiber farms, fiber artists, and other small farming ventures. Maine Fiber Frolic encourages interaction within communities to foster a relationship between community and small family farms.

East Bayside Trail Fest • Portland Trails
You're invited to Portland Trails' first annual East Bayside Trail Fest, presented by Kennebec Savings Bank, on Sunday, June 22nd! support The East Bayside Trail Fest consists of three events: the Trail to Ale 10K, the Bayside Ride, and the Trail Mix 2-Miler. Everything culminates in a party on Diamond Street featuring music, food, local beer, cider, and spirits, and more!

Found Object • Maine Craft
Featuring 40+ members and friends of Running with Scissors Artist Studios and Maine Crafts Association, source artwork, craft objects as well as seconds, studio supplies and equipment in one marketplace. Come together, have fun, celebrate craft and share materials! This community event is free and open to the public. Convenient parking is available on Anderson Street, Marginal Way, and the nearby commuter lot.

Cape Elizabeth Garden Tour • Friends of Fort Williams Park
This popular event wanders through seaside neighborhoods and highlights backyard wildlife habitats and native plants. As a primary fundraiser for the Friends of Fort Williams Park, the proceeds from the tour support stewardship efforts to preserve and enhance Fort Williams Park.

Ossipee Valley Music Festival 2025
Ossipee Valley is a music festival in Maine. The festival features five stages, food trucks, craft beer, yoga, barn dances, workshops, kids activities, artisan craft vendors and RV and tent camping. It is dreamily situated on the banks of the Ossipee river, amongst tall pines and goat barns, in southern Maine, under an hour from Portland or North Conway, and 2.5 hrs NW of Boston. The event sells out, so don't wait to grab your tickets!

Blossom Tour in the Maine Heritage Orchard • MOFGA
Nestled on the serene grounds of MOFGA’s campus in Unity, Maine, the Maine Heritage Orchard has blossomed over the past decade, into a monument of environmental stewardship and agricultural heritage. As it marks its 10th anniversary, the orchard is a testament to community collaboration and educational innovation, showcasing nearly 400 varieties of historic apples and pears that were once at risk of fading into obscurity.
Each spring, the hundreds of trees blossom. It is a beautiful time in the orchard, and we hope you can join us for a tour to enjoy the seasonal display and learn more about the orchard, which both acts as a living gene bank – preserving Maine’s rarest apple and pear varieties – and provides a venue for organic orcharding education from visitors throughout the state and beyond.

Growing Up Maine • Classical Uprising
What is home? Featuring the music of composer Judd Greenstein and the words of your fourth- and fifth-grade neighbors from Portland’s Reiche Community School, this full-length concert work, featuring Classical Uprising’s symphonic chorus, Oratorio Chorale, is a musical portrait of our state, told by the children who are transforming it.

Paddle with a Purpose • Friends of Casco Bay and Friends of Presumpscot River
Paddle with a Purpose is a community event highlighting the Presumpscot River, the largest freshwater source flowing into Casco Bay. Jen Deraspe, a Westbrook resident and Registered Maine Guide, will embark on a solo canoe journey from Bethel to Casco Bay—85 miles in eight days, May 5-13—to raise awareness and support for Friends of the Presumpscot River and Friends of Casco Bay. Her goal is to raise at least $5,000 to protect these vital waters.

Free the River Paddle-In • NRCM & Megunticook Riverkeepers
Join NRCM, Megunticook Riverkeeper, Penobscot Nation Dept. of Natural Resources, and other local partners for a community paddle and rally to support the removal of the Montgomery Dam on the Megunticook River.
This is a family-friendly, educational event to celebrate healthy rivers, clean water, and thriving wildlife — and to call attention to the upcoming town vote on restoring a free-flowing Megunticook.

Pollinator Parade: Tenth Anniversary! • Maine Audubon

Join us for an engaging and inspiring introduction to Water Reporter—our community-powered effort to document changes in the watershed and help protect Casco Bay.
Using their smartphones, volunteer Water Reporters capture observations of riverine and coastal changes, such as algal blooms, erosion, sea level rise, pollution, and wildlife sightings. These reports provide essential data to help safeguard the health of the Casco Bay watershed!

Davinica will lead grounding exercises to heighten our senses, followed by a guided walk exploring the dynamic interactions of fresh and saltwater ecosystems. Get ready to scramble! Portland Parks, Recreation & Facilities is hosting their 3rd Annual Egg Scramble at Payson Park. First, enjoy egg hunting, photos with Bubba the Bunny, face painting, games, and more! Please register children ages 10 and under here to participate.

Grow Your Own Organic Garden covers all the basics of organic gardening — such as supporting soil and plant health, starting seeds indoors and outdoors, interplanting, pest management, watering, and harvesting.

Seed Swap & Scion Exchange • MOFGA
Gardeners and orchardists are invited to bring their seeds, scionwood (fruit tree wood for propagating fruit trees), and plants to share. You don’t need to bring anything in order to participate! There is always an abundance of seeds and scionwood donated by community members and producers.
Film Screening: A Peace of Forest March 29 • Portland Trails
Portland Trails is proud to partner with nine other Portland-area land trusts and trail organizations to host a screening of the Maine-made wildlife documentary A Peace of Forest at USM’s Hannaford Hall on Saturday, March 29th. Doors will open at 6:30pm, and the film will begin at 7pm. A Q+A with the filmmakers and producers, Lee Ann and Thomas Szelog, will be held from 8:30-9pm.
